Transportation
Since all venues and events will be in the old city center of Rome we highly suggest you either take taxis, ubers or walk.
Public transport (specifically the bus and underground) is not recommended. Taking the train or tram is an exception.
Taxis

If taking a taxi from the airport please know that there is a fixed price if you are being dropped off in the city center of 48 EURO (from FCO).
You can contact a Taxi company by dialing 060609 or submit your request through the Roma Capitale Chiama Taxi Utente App, downloadable from Google Play (Android) or App Store (Ios).
If you call 060609, you will need to clearly pronounce the address and street number from which you wish to be picked up. The voice recognition system will direct your call to the nearest Taxi stand.
The Taxi service vehicles of Roma Capitale are white and have a sign 'TAXI' on the roof.
We recommend that, whenever possible, you take the Taxi directly from a dedicated Taxi stand or reserve it by telephone.

Uber

Uber is a convenient way to get around Rome.
Just a tip: there aren't many vehicles around at peek hours so it might be hard to get an Uber. Make sure to hail a cab if needed or plan for some waiting time.
Car share & Bicycles

There are also car sharing options available in Rome like Free2move.
For bicycles Lime can be a good option. You will find scooters parked around Rome.
For both options be aware of Roman traffic. Finding parking spaces is hard and scooters need to be aware of the hectic traffic .
Walking

Rome is quite safe and easy to walk around. Just make sure you follow your Google maps as the small roads in Rome are not organized in blocks as most cities and a wrong turn can take you further away from your destination.
That said, Rome is wonderful for getting lost in. If you need to get somewhere on time just make sure to take off early so you can enjoy the architectural surprises along the way.
